BLT Sandwich
Ingredients:
- Sourdough Bread
- Tomatoes, preferably Heirloom Tomatoes
- Spicy Mayo (add sriracha to kewpie mayo until desired spice level, add touch of sesame oil)
- Butter Lettuce
- Bacon
- Butter
- Add bacon to a baking sheet, cook in the oven at 400° for about 15-20 minutes (Always bake bacon, regardless of what you’re using it for).
- While bacon is baking, slice sourdough bread and THICK heirloom tomatoes (remember, this is a tomato sandwich, not a bacon sandwich).
- Apply butter to sourdough, toast in a pan on until both sides are golden and crispy
- Add spicy mayo to both pieces of toasted bread, add lettuce, then bacon, then tomatoes, season your tomatoes with salt and pepper, then the top piece of bread
- Slice on a bias and enjoy!
The perfect summer sandwich. When it’s tomato season, this is an absolute must. One of my favorite parts about this sandwich is the effort to reward ratio. It really doesn’t take much to make something so good. Give this one a try!
